Where is Rochester Hills?

Rochester Hills is located in northeast Oakland County, in the northern outskirts of Metropolitan Detroit area. Its neighboring companion city, Rochester, lies right in the northeast corner of Rochester Hills. In addition to its own community life, Rochester Hills is a quick 45-minute drive south to the heart of downtown Detroit, and is equally close to neighboring communities just north, east, and west, which all boast smaller-town communities and activities. 

Schools in Rochester Hills

Children who live here attend Rochester Community Schools. Recently, two of the district’s high schools, Rochester Adams High School and Stoney Creek High School, ranked in Michigan’s top 20, according to the annual U.S. News & World Report Best High Schools list.

Both Rochester University and Oakland University were founded in Rochester Hills and the universities continue to grow each year.

Like Rochester, Rochester Hills has many options for shopping and entertainment. The Village of Rochester Hills is the area’s go-to outdoor mall. The mall boasts high-profile stores and hosts many events throughout the year. Recreational facilities, such as swimming, bicycling, fishing, and more are within easy reach at municipal parks. Other landmarks include the Rochester Hills Museum at Van Hoosen Farm in Stoney Creek Village, Meadow Brook Hall, Yates Cider Mill, and the much-loved Rochester Public Library.
